Portmanteau names

A portmanteau (IPA pronunciation: /pɔːtˈmæntəʊ/ RP, /pɔːrtˈmæntoʊ/ US) is a word or morpheme that fuses two or more words or word parts to give a combined or loaded meaning. A folk usage of portmanteau refers to a word formed by combining both sounds and meanings from two or more words (e.g., spork from spoon and fork, animatronics from animation and electronics, ginormous from gigantic and enormous, or blaxploitation from black and exploitation). Typically, portmanteaux are nonce words or neologisms. Portmanteaux are commonly used in scientific literature for a wide variety of technical words, such as cyborg from cybernetic and organism.

OK, that's my word of the day. Portmanteau. I was following a link the msn homepage, and ended up reading about hybrid dogs, or as I call them, "frankendogs". We have all heard of a cockapoo, a mix between a cocker spaniel and a poodle. Well, I never knew that designer dogs have reached the critical stage so quickly! Some of these names are just...well, too funny!

Told you! What are my favorites?
CHEEKS.... but I would have to own two of them, wouldn't I? I mean, if I was walking a CHEEK, it just doesn't sound right to say, "Um, Yes, this in my CHEEK...." It would sound much better to say, "Oh, Yes, these are my CHEEKS...aren't they cute!...Go ahead, you can touch them, my CHEEKS don't bite! Yes, you can even kiss my CHEEKS, they love when you do that, and they will kiss you back! I just love my CHEEKS, except for cleaning up the yard. You should see the shit that comes out of my CHEEKS!"

My second favorite would be JUGS....but you can use your own imagination there.
Same with a BULL-SHIH.
Who wouldn't love to own a BOXSPRING!

I think I will take this one step further.... and imagine what would happen if I let my CHEEKS play with the neighbor's JUGS, an a BOXSPRING showed up....hmmm, I just don't want to go there!
